Ocha ni Shiyo Kikko Pattern Mug | Japanese "Let's Have Tea" Text
お茶にしよう (ocha ni shiyō) literally means "let's have tea", and in everyday Japanese it really means "let's take a break". It is what someone says at home or at work when it is time to stop for a moment.
The bands are kikko (亀甲, tortoise shell) hexagons, a pattern for long life, since the tortoise was said to live ten thousand years. The design is printed on both sides, so it reads whichever hand you hold it in.
Shaped like a mug, not a yunomi tea cup; we borrowed the feeling, not the form.
Designed in Tokyo by Mojinami. Printed on demand by our print partner. Blank mug sourced from China, printed at a partner facility.
