Product details

Bring one of the most famous views of Mount Fuji into your home. South Wind, Clear Sky (凱風快晴, Gaifū kaisei), better known as Red Fuji, is from Katsushika Hokusai's series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, about 1830 to 1832. Early autumn light turns the mountain red under a deep blue sky full of mackerel clouds: simple, bold and calm.

We set the print on a warm unbleached border with the title 凱風快晴 and the artist's name 葛飾北斎 in vertical Japanese, and a small vermilion Mojinami crest. The caption under the image gives the English title and source.

Where it works: above a sideboard, desk or sofa, in a hallway, or in a Japanese-style or minimalist room. The warm red and blue sit easily with wood, linen and white walls. It also pairs naturally with our Great Wave poster as a matching set of two, and makes an easy gift for anyone who loves Japan, Mount Fuji or ukiyo-e.
